How to Add a New Product

Add a product to your inventory in three quick steps — basic info, units & stock, then review.

4 min
  1. 1

    Start adding a product

From Inventory, tap Add Product to start the 3-step wizard: Basic Info, Units & Stock, then Review.

Adding a new product needs an internet connection — you'll see "Online Connection Required" if you try while offline, since new products sync with the central catalog.

  2. 2

    Enter the basics

Fill in the Product Name, an optional SKU / Barcode, and a Category (pick from your existing categories or create a new one). Then set the Cost Price and Selling Price for the base unit.

Kasuwa 360 shows a live margin badge (e.g. "+40% (+₦200 profit / unit)") as you type, so you can see your markup before saving. There's also a "Show on Marketplace" toggle if you want the product listed there.

  3. 3

Set up units and starting stock

Choose a Base Unit Name — pick a preset like Tablet, Pack, Piece, Bottle, Kg, Liter, Yard, or Bag, or set your own. If you also sell in bulk packaging (like a carton of 24 pieces), add a custom packaging unit with a conversion factor — Kasuwa 360 shows a live preview like "1 Carton = 24 Piece".

Set your starting stock quantity here — this is the only time you can enter a quantity directly. After the product is created, all stock changes go through Adjust Stock instead.

  4. 4

    Review and confirm

Check everything on the Review step, then confirm to save the product.
